Unsolicited Seed Reporter

A growing trend in e-commerce known as “brushing’, a known ecommerce scam technique where unsolicited packages are shipped to unsuspecting residences, has gone viral. There have been a large number of reported instances where individuals are receiving unknown seed varieties in the mail originating from China. These seeds may contain plant diseases, weeds or invasive plants that could harm Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and ecosystem.

Consumers who receive unsolicited seeds are asked to retain the seeds and packaging. If opened, double bag and seal the seeds. Do not plant them or discard loose seeds.

If you have received unsolicited seeds, please report it directly to USDA.
