Jonathan Hendrickson

Legislative Director

Jonathan HendricksonJonathan Hendrickson was appointed Director of Legislative Affairs in August 2017. In this role, he serves as the liaison between the Department of Agriculture and the members of the General Assembly. He coordinates and collaborates with the Governor’s Office of Legislative Affairs on legislation that impacts the program areas and services of the Department.

Jonathan was formerly the Director of Special projects and Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Commonwealth at the Pennsylvania Department of State. Prior to this, he served as the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Senate Local Government Committee and Legislative Director in the Office of State Senator Rob Teplitz. He previously worked at the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services, where he focused on finding innovative ways to identify and overcome municipal financial distress. He was appointed the Recovery Coordinator for Westfall Township, the only municipality in Pennsylvania to suffer bankruptcy, and successfully guided the township out of distress and into fiscal health.

Jonathan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Penn State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government.

Jonathan lives in the City of Harrisburg with his family. He is an active member of his community, advocating for his neighborhood as the President of the Midtown Action Council, serving on the Board of Directors for Historic Harrisburg Association, acting as a Trustee for the Community Historic Preservation Fund, and volunteering at his church.
