Perhaps no one understands the word uncertainty better than the farmer, who puts nature in motion each season, planting or calving, then responds to forces beyond control, such as weather and markets.

To work this business, you must be comfortable with a certain level of uncertainty.

But sometimes it becomes too much. Financial hardship, never ending work, loneliness, substance misuse, sickness, family discord, badly timed equipment failure — in a normal year, there are countless stressors that can bring the strongest farmer to the breaking point.

And 2020 is not a normal year. Effects of the COVID-19 virus have rippled across agriculture. It is the reason we've seen an increase in crises center calls, and the reason we are sharing these resources.
