What is your current role with the PDA?
My job as a state dog warden includes enforcing licensing
and rabies laws, seizing and detaining dogs running at large, investigating dog
bites, establishing and enforcing quarantines, enforcing kennel licensing and
regulations, maintaining a registry and inspecting dogs declared dangerous by
the magisterial district judge, prosecuting dog law violations in court, and
providing educational services about dog ownership…just to name a few things!
What was your favorite part of FFA?
The gathering of friends,
new knowledge and bragging rights, as my grandfather had the largest milking
farm in the area!
How did FFA prepare you for the job you do today?
Knowledge of farm animals.
What is the most important thing you learned from
your time in FFA?
How-to’s: growing crops,
fertilizing, care of animals and types of farming tools. And never underestimate
the animal – no matter how much you think you're in
control!
